5 Easy Lunch Box Ideas for Happy Kids at School
Updated: Oct 11, 2023
Lunch doesn't have to be the same old sandwich everyday BUT it doesn't have to be tons of prep work either! (You can also get the kiddos in on the lunchbox packing when you have the time!)
All of the lunchbox ideas in this blog post are made in a little bento lunchbox we grabbed at 5 below! I've linked similar ones here and some of our other faves too!
What makes these lunches so fun and I'm positive they put a smile on Cori's face when she opens them up is they include foods I KNOW she loves to eat. We often make lunchbox meals so different from the meals our kiddos enjoy at home or outside of school, when we don't have to! Now, I'm not talking making full on dinners or 5 course meals for lunch, HAHA but we can certainly include some of the dishes we know our kids will finish. I mean I wouldn't want the same sandwich every day, would you?
When we have the time (especially when it's something quick and easy) I let Cori help out with making her lunch! That just adds to the excitement when she gets to enjoy it later and share her creation with her friends. My suggestion is to give your kiddo a simple task to help out with. Like cutting the bananas (for a yummy pb&banana uncrustable) with kid safe knives or adding the snack of their choice into the box!

5 Simple and Yummy Lunch Box Ideas
Quick Breakfast Bento Box - who said you can't have breakfast for lunch? Mini Frozen pancakes, sausage and fruit make this a tasty and quick lunch!
Chicken and waffles Lunch- this classic meal gets a lunchbox makeover with chicken fries and Eggo mini cinnamon toast waffles! We added in fruit and a mini m&m treat to complete the meal!
Banana Love Bento Box- We love Barnana snack products and that inspired us to make this banana filled lunch box. PB&Banana uncrustable, Barnana plantain chips with salsa, plus Barnana bites for a sweet and healthy treat!
Thai Noodles Lunch box- Noodles of any kind are a fave around here. I used an easy Thai noodle lunch kit, you can use your kids favorite or even a frozen entree, we added in carrots, spring rolls and a treat too.
Quesadilla Bento Box- Pepperoni on the side please! Cori likes her quesadilla JUST cheese, but she loves to have pepperoni to munch on too, so I added that in along with sour cream to dip her quesadilla, and some fresh fruit (apples, peaches and blackberries)
Aside from the meal itself cute sandwich cutters ,a fun lunchbox and yummy treats can really make lunchtime a happy part of the day. Ask your kiddo what they'd like to see in their lunch box and see what ideas you can incorporate. We hope you all enjoy lunch!
